FordHall Farm: Join the Fight to save an Organic Farm from Developers
Published May 8th, 2006 in Conservation, Stewardship, Permaculture
For only £50 you can own a piece of the English Countryside. Join the FordHall Community Land Initiative and help Charlotte and Ben Hollins save their family's organic farm from developers.
For only £50 (approx. $100 Cdn.) you can own a share in Fordhall Farm, and save an important piece of the English countryside forever. For over 300 years, Fordhall Farm has been farmed by generations of the Hollins' family. Since the 1940s, Fordhall Farm has been operated as an organic farm, and played an important part in the life of nearby communities. Each share in Fordhall Farm secures 32 sq.ft. of the English Countryside forever.
The opportunity to save this farm will not last forever. So far over 1400 shares have been sold, and £205,000 raised. Another 11900 shares must be sold by July 1st 2006 in order to raise the last £595,000 needed to save the farm.
