The communications giants are currently lobbying the US Congress to pave the way for tiered internet service. This would allow Internet Service Providers like AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth to charge for, and limit access to Internet content and delivery.

Commercial content providers with deep pockets would be able to pay for high-speed content delivery, while independant businesses, artists, journalists, podcasters, bloggers, activists, fundraisers, etc. (everyone without deep pockets) would be "sent to the back of the bus" and see the delivery of their content and access to affordable online marketing efforts cutoff. The Internet as you know it today, would essentially become nothing more than cable TV. A free and open Internet, is key to promoting and sustaining small business and economic diversity, and supporting the free creation and exchange of new ideas.

Congress is currently considering the "Net Neutrality Bill", which if passed, would preserve 'Net Neutrality' and prevent Internet Service Providers from limiting access to, and delivery of online content.

The New York Times, [1] San Jose Mercury News,[2] San Fransisco Chronicle,[3] Seattle Times,[4] and Houston Chronicle,[5] have already added their voice to those of main-stream music artists and consumer advocacy groups in the fight to preserve Net Neutrality and Internet freedom. Please add your voice today.

Take moment to visit the Save the Internet campaign website and cast your vote for 'Net Neutrality" today.
